Challenge
Suffolk Construction was charged with completing a major renovation and new construction at one of the busiest airports in the United States. The project required coordination among multiple stakeholders across different locations, making traditional design review processes slow and impractical.
Suffolk needed a solution that would enable real-time collaboration and streamline the review cycle without requiring all parties to be physically present at the site.

Solution
Theia partnered with Suffolk to create a robust VR-based design collaboration tool built in Unreal Engine. The multi-user functionality allowed stakeholders from different locations to join the same virtual environment simultaneously, review design elements in real time, and provide feedback directly within the 3D model.
This approach transformed the design review from a sequential, document-based process into an interactive, spatial experience where decisions could be made collaboratively and efficiently.

Outcome
The VR collaboration tool expedited the design review process and accelerated the overall construction timeline. Multiple stakeholders could evaluate and approve design decisions without the delays of scheduling in-person meetings or shipping physical models.
By bringing all parties into a shared virtual environment, Theia's solution reduced miscommunication, sped up approvals, and gave Suffolk a competitive advantage in managing one of the most complex airport renovation projects in the country.
